MANHEIM, Lancaster County, Pa. – Raptor will demonstrate the many benefits of its polymer fasteners for streamlining production at Wood Pro Expo Lancaster, Oct. 14-15 at the Spooky Nook Sports complex.
Raptor says its polymer nails save users time and money, while conserving materials and resources. Raptor nails do not have to be countersunk. They will not rust, corrode or cause wood degradations. After being driven into wood, the nails can be cut, sanded, sawed and shaped without damaging tools or abrasives, which decreases machine downtime to replace tools or abrasive belts. Raptor leaves no holes to putty and once sanded and once painted or stained are virtually undetectable. (See introductory video above.)
Raptor adds that CNC woodworkers find the Raptor finish nails to be a quick and safe clamping method for holding multiple layers or small pieces to CNC routers, which provides savings on set up and removal down time. The nails are router bit-friendly and eliminate the cost spent to replace bits damaged from accidental contact with metal nails, according to the company. (See video below.)
In woodworking applications where glue is used, such as door manufacturing, Raptor nails act as a clamp to hold parts together during drying. When Raptor is utilized, there is no need to wait for the glue to dry before cutting, shaping, sanding and staining and there are no clamps to remove or metal nails to damage tools. The doors can immediately move throughout production without downtime, without tool or sander belt damage and without holes to putty, the company says.
