HOUSTON - A world-famous closet and one of the largest closets in the United States has a new owner. Nan and Company Properties CHRISTIE'S International Real Estate recently announced the sale of the infamous mansion in a gated Carlton Woods subdivision in The Woodlands, Texas. The $6,495,000 and 17,380-square-foot mansion with its 3-story closet was owned by Houston socialite and philanthropist Theresa Roemer and her husband, Lamar Roemer.

"From the first time I walked in this home, I knew this was going to be spectacular listing," said Nancy Almodovar, CEO of Nan and Company Properties and listing agent. "It was a personal mission of mine to find the right buyer for this estate and see it across the finish line.  We are thrilled to announce the sale is complete."

The estate sits on a two-acre lot overlooking the Nicklaus Course in Carlton Woods and Bear Branch Reserve. The 3-story manse features modern amenities, including seven bedrooms, 10 baths – and the 3,000-square-foot closet with a floating staircase.

The closet has been viewed over 20M times on YouTube alone and has been featured in a number of media outlets including Million Dollar Closets and Million Dollar Listing.

Each level of the closet is curated, down to an Excel spreadsheet for exacting inventory. "The key to having an organized closet is to separate it by sections," said Roemer.  "What I love best about my closet is that it allows me to view my entire collection when getting dressed. Having a 3,000-square-foot closet that spans three separate floors allows me to view my entire collection when searching for an outfit. If I can't see it, I won't wear it, so I need to be able to see everything. This allows me to continuously be inspired by pieces that would otherwise be hidden from view."

Additional features of the luxurious home include a gated entry with a towering water feature and a circular driveway; a $60,000 Egyptian Crystal chandelier and 25-foot floor-to-ceiling glass walls; a custom-built wine tasting room designed to store 245 bottles; a separate catering kitchen; wet bars and a butler's pantry.
