The Young Wood Professionals program was an instant hit last year - possibly because it is so easy to join in: you just post a wood project you've done, with the hashtag  #YWPweek.

We narrow the field to 5 finalists, put them on Facebook, and the winner of the most Likes wins the Young Wood Professionals award, and gets invited to our Pasadena, CA awards gala in March 2016!

Last Year's Young Wood Pro Winner

Martin Goebel (left, with his crew) won last summer's Young Wood Pro Award.

The whole thing kicks off with Young* Woodworking Professionals Week, which runs August 31-September 4.

At the culmination of YWPweek on September 4th, Woodworking Network will award the Young Woodworking Professional who has demonstrated the highest degree of skill in a woodworking project: furniture, cabinet, art object, turning - you name it.

The winner will get a full write-up on our site and in Woodworking Network publications. You’ll also receive a trophy worthy of a woodworker and be honored during Awards Night at the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo 2016, March 22-24 in Pasadena (The last winner, Martin Goebel, flew out to Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo in Schaumburg, IL to claim his award).

How to Enter:

1. **Use the hashtag #YWPweek on Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest OR post to the Woodworking Network Facebook timeline before 8/28.

2. Include a finished product image and the predominant species of wood used.

(you can also enter by emailing [email protected] with your project pictures and information)

Judging:

Stage 1 - Woodworking Network editors will publish a Facebook album for 10 semi-finalists at the start of YWPweek.

Stage 2 – You take control! The top 5 photos that receive the most votes in the form of ‘likes’ will become finalists.

Stage 3 – Editors will vote on the 1st place winner.

So what are you waiting for!? Snap, submit and get nominated!
