Makeshift Plywood Boats Race for Plywood Cup

Fourteen teams participating in the 13th annual Plywood Cup helped raised tens of thousands of dollars to benefit childrens' charities: Small Talk, MMRF Research Foundation

The race, held on Grandville Island in Vancouver, BC, featured boats built with dontated materials by the four-man teams. Each team had 90 minutes to build their boat using

  • two large sheets of plywood
  • one 8 ft piece of 2x2
  • a hammer
  • 125 nails
  • 30 feet of duct tape
  • a saw
  • a measuring stick and
  • a pencil.

The FUNdraiser was sponsored by the Vancouver Progress Club.
