Woodworking for the One Percent: Toboggan Building Getaway  “Toboggan Building 101″ is a two-night getaway package at the  includes a weekend of toboggan building at the Apprenticeshop, a boatbuilding school in Rockland, ME.

The weekend includes two days of instruction in basic techniques of bending, sanding, finishing and fastening to form the toboggan, classic runnerless sleds typically built of maple, oak or willow.

Toboggan builders, whose package may also include a Chef’s five-course tasting menu and sumptuous breakfast, may want to return for more extensive classes in boatbuilding, or woodworking and joinery fundamentals.

Toboggan Building 101 runs at the Apprenticeshop on Saturday – Sundays, November 2-3, December 7-8, January 4-5, (2014), from $745.
