WASHINGTON -  National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Vice President of Legal, Infrastructure and Regulatory Policy Rosario Palmieri issued this statement on the regulatory-reduction measures the House of Representatives is considering:

“The unfavorable environment caused by regulations and taxes is the number-one concern manufacturers listed in the most recent NAM/IndustryWeek Survey of Manufacturers. Manufacturers have been hit hard with a litany of new regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency, National Labor Relations Board and other agencies that are driving up costs and making us less competitive globally. More costly regulations piled on top of the looming fiscal abyss are only adding to the uncertainty and harming job creation and growth.

To reduce the burden on manufacturers, Congress needs to act to make structural reforms to the regulatory process. With manufacturing growth down to its slowest pace in 19 months, it’s abundantly clear that the government must reduce all unnecessary costs on America’s job creators.”
