SOUTH LYON, MI – Software developer User Solutions has created tools including Excel Add-On and Resource Manager for Excel to assist manufacturers in managing schedules for staffing and deliveries.
Steve Gronger, president of countertop and casework company, Lue Manufacturing in Goshen, IN, says the production planning tools have been a beneficial resource as the shop began to experience an increase in demand and customer expectations.
“We just didn't have the tools to accurately plan a viable schedule for meeting these new requests and the last thing we needed was to adapt a complex ERP-type system to try to run the entire business,” Gronger says. “We found User Solutions after looking for a stand-alone affordable planning tool and decided to get started with their Excel Add-On, Resource Manager for Excel."
User Solutions says its new product, Resource Manager-DB, features a scheduling algorithm to reduce complex scheduling environments, as well as enhanced crew-member skill level scheduling supports and visual-scheduling Gantt charts.
