POINTE-CLAIRE, QC - FPInnnovations will present "Robotics Manufacturing for the Wood Industry," Sept. 11 in Moncton, NB, and Sept. 13 in Mississauga, ON.

The program, supported by CNC Automation and Machineries Automa Tech, will examine how Canadian wood products manufacturers of various sizes have successfully implemented the use of robotics in their factories and also other uses of the technology in Europe. Each of the speakers are representatives of the wood products industry..

Representatives of approximately 50 manufacturers attended the first Robotis program earlier this year in Quebec City.

"As the product development and CNC specialist for FPInnovations in Ontario, I can attest to the change happening in our industry when labor and process improvements are not enough for us to be able to compete on the world stage any more," said Alain Albert. "Also, I have seen first-hand how fast CAD/CAM, CNC and robotics technology have been evolving. Some aspects of these technologies are now within reach of even the smallest manufacturer. That's why it's important that everyone come to see how these technologies can be applied in their shops."
