LEESBURG, Va. - Rehau has expanded its range of modern surfaces encompassing high-gloss, polymer glass, matte and natural textured woodgrain materials - all of which are available through the company’s custom cabinet door program.  Over 50 finishes in seven collections allow designers to easily achieve the look of mixed materials as well as high-end lacquered, solid wood and back-painted glass cabinetry in manufacturing-friendly laminates.
“We’re seeing a strong trend toward frameless slab doors in modern interiors, which look amazing with contemporary materials,” said Jesse Collins, senior marketing specialist with Rehau’s furniture solutions division. “High-gloss, glass and matte surfaces also work well when mixed with materials such as wood and brick to create an industrial or loft-style design.”

Polymer Glass Surfaces

Rauvisio Crystal polymer back-painted glass surfaces allow designers to create the glass kitchen for “real life,” addressing client concerns about the practicality and safety of real glass. For both clients and woodworkers, Rauvisio Crystal offers the glamor of real glass with 10 times more break resistance, says Rehau. It can be cut and drilled with normal woodworking tools and doesn’t require an aluminum frame.
Offered in eight high-gloss and frosted finishes, Rauvisio Crystal features matching edgeband, has color depth and is scratch and impact resistant. This surface can also serve as a marker board without the ghosting effect after it is erased.

High-Gloss Surfaces

Rehau’s high-gloss range comprises two collections: Rauvisio Brilliant mirror high-gloss acrylic surface and Rauvisio Radiant high-gloss PET surface. Rauvisio Brilliant features double-sided high-gloss with mirror-like reflective quality. Offered in 12 colors, Rauvisio Brilliant boasts 20-plus years of UV resistance, so a white kitchen will not yellow over time.

“The launch of our Rauvisio radiant line is timely because it features the colors and tones that are in especially strong demand right now, especially in grays, pearlescent whites and exotic woodgrains,” Collins said.
Rauvisio Radiant offers excellent value and consistent quality in eight high-gloss solid colors and woodgrain prints. Rauvisio Radiant features single-sided high-gloss with matching mirror-gloss edgeband, batch-to-batch color consistency and excellent UV and heat resistance.

Matte Surfaces

Prompted by trends in the European market, Rehau has introduced Rauvisio Sky super matte PET surface and Rauvisio urban gloss and matte fusion PET surfaces.
Fenix NTM, created by Arpa Industriale, is a next generation laminate surface using nanotechnology to achieve a super matte finish that doesn’t show fingerprints. Offered in 12 solid colors and prints, Fenix NTM surfaces are soft to the touch, thermally healing and scratch resistant.
Rauvisio Sky and Rauvisio Urban offer high value and consistent quality in super matte components, says the company, and are available in six colors coordinating with the Rauvisio Radiant high-gloss range. Rauvisio Sky super matte surfaces have a low-gloss level near zero.  Rauvisio Urban is a fusion of matte and gloss in one surface, lending a unique design to any modern home.

Natural Surfaces

Rauvisio Terra textured woodgrain surface is a durable deep-embossed laminate made from HPL rather than melamine paper. Offered in five woodgrain prints with matching deep-textured Rehau LaserEdge, Terra surfaces are soft to the touch and moisture- and impact-resistant, creating durable modern cabinets inspired by reclaimed wood.
“Responding to the hottest trends in the market, we’ve added this line to bring warmth and deep texture to modern designs,” Collins said. “Our natural surfaces are made with HPL rather than melamine paper. This gives them added substance and durability.”

REHAU LaserEdge technology

All collections in Rehau’s range of modern surfaces – polymer glass, high-gloss, matte and natural textured woodgrain – feature matching LaserEdge adhesive-free technology. This two-layer edgeband, comprising a surface and a color-matched functional layer, is welded to the carrier board. The seam-free result offers increased aesthetic appeal with no joints to stain or discolor, as well as superior heat and moisture resistance.
