Emeryville, CA – GreenWood Resources (GWR), a global investment and timber management company, has received the seventh U.S.-based Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Project Certification for its headquarters office expansion, assessed by third-party auditor, SCS Global Services (SCS). All of the timber and wood products used in this project have earned FSC certification. At least 50% of the wood has been certified to the elevated FSC standards, FSC-100%, FSC-Mix, or FSC Post-Consumer Reclaimed, a threshold rarely achieved in green building construction projects.

GWR’s Portland, Oregon office expansion included the construction of 34 new workspaces, conference room and reception facilities, which incorporated Collins Pacific Albus® lumber and veneer products, and 130 sheets of Columbia Forest Products’ (Columbia) PureBond® MPX® decorative plywood panels. The MPX panels featured hybrid poplar cross bands and veneer, cut from Pacific Albus® lumber. All hybrid poplar products used in the office expansion were processed from GWR’s GreenWood Tree Farm Fund (GTFF) plantation trees, which grew to harvestable dimensions in only 12 years. The GTFF tree farm also earned Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) certification by SCS, which represents the first-ever dual FSC and RSB certification.
