NEW ORLEANS – The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) awarded Robert J. Hrubes, Executive vice president of SCS Global Services – a developer of sustainability certification, auditing, testing and standards - and Richard Donovan, senior vice president and vice president of forestry at the Rainforest Alliance, with the FSC Leadership Award for Long-Standing Dedication to FSC and Leadership through an Uncommon Partnership.

As a founding member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Hrubes helped design the FSC certification program and served on the FSC International Board of Directors for five years following its inception.

Donovan also serves on FSC committees and groups including The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO).

"It is a genuine honor to be recognized by the FSC US," Dr. Hrubes said. "Protecting forest ecosystems while maintaining a robust lumber industry has been a lifelong passion and professional pursuit. I'm delighted to share this honor with my longstanding professional colleague, Richard Donovan, who shares this mission."

Awards were presented at the 10th Annual Design & Build with FSC Awards Ceremony at Greenbuild 2014 in New Orleans.
