PARKERSBURG, W. VA. – How do you teach a television audience to build a piece of fine furniture in half an hour? Woodcraft invites you to enter the “Rough Cut Uncut – Win a Day with Tommy Mac” sweepstakes to find out.

The contest winner and a guest will travel to Canton, Massachusetts, in July to meet host Tommy MacDonald and watch one day of filming for Tommy’s new public television show, Rough Cut – Woodworking with Tommy Mac. Woodcraft is the exclusive corporate sponsor of Rough Cut, which is a production of WGBH Boston.

Visit your local Woodcraft store or woodcraft.com/roughcut for entry details. Contestants may enter online, at stores or by U.S. mail. Entry deadline is April 30, 2011. The contest is open to residents of the 50 states and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old. Entries are limited to one per household, and the winner and guest must be available to travel to Canton during the WGBH filming schedule, sometime between July 11 and 29, 2011.

Boston native and graduate of the North Bennet Street School, Tommy began sharing his extensive woodworking knowledge on television in October 2010, when Rough Cut aired on public television stations nationwide. Rough Cut also airs on CREATE, American Public Television’s digital cable channel. Thirteen episodes follow Tommy as he travels to historical New England landmarks to gain design inspiration and then returns to his workshop to demonstrate the steps and techniques it takes to create comprehensive woodworking projects.
