Western Forest Products senior management change
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA-- Western Forest Products Inc. (TSX:WEF) - Western today announced that Stephen Frasher has resigned as President and CEO of the company. The board of directors of Western has re-appointed Dominic Gammiero as CEO, in addition to his current role as Chairman.

Lee Doney, currently Vice Chairman, will play a more active role and will focus on strategic initiatives, including the continued development of the company's long term strategy to re-invest in the company's west coast manufacturing capacity.

"We would like to thank Stephen for assisting with the operational restructuring of WFP and wish him well in his future endeavours," said Dominic Gammiero. "Our goal now is to position the company to grow as the US housing markets are poised for recovery over the medium term. Lee Doney's experience in the sector will be of great assistance in pursuing growth opportunities," added Gammiero.

Western is an integrated Canadian forest products company and the largest coastal British Columbia woodland operator and lumber producer with an annual available harvest of approximately 7.4 million cubic metres of timber of which approximately 7.1 million cubic metres is from Crown lands and lumber capacity in excess of 1.5 billion board feet from eight sawmills and four remanufacturing plants. Principal activities conducted by the company include timber harvesting, reforestation, sawmilling logs into lumber and wood chips and value-added remanufacturing. Substantially all of Western's operations, employees and corporate facilities are located in the coastal region of British Columbia while its products are sold in over 25 countries worldwide.
