Vanguard acquires Primex Manufacturing
SURREY, BC -- In a move to secure their position as a leader in the construction materials industry, Vanguard Plastics Ltd. has acquired nearby Primex Manufacturing of Langley, BC. As of August 1, 2008 Primex Manufacturing became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vanguard.

“We’re very excited about this new acquisition,” says Bob Smart, President of Vanguard. “By adding Primex’s capacity to our own, we’ve taken the next step in positioning our firm as a major supplier to the construction industry.”

Juergen Koessler, who started Primex over 30 years ago, is pleased to be able to step away from day to day management knowing that his brand will continue to grow under the leadership of the Vanguard management team.

The acquisition provides increased capacity, additional patents and ownership of a well-recognized brand in the construction industry. Vanguard’s construction products division will now include shelf support and fenestration products under the Vanguard banner and indoor and outdoor HVAC, building, and wire management products under the Primex brand. Vanguard will also continue to design and manufacture Primex telecom enclosures, modular jacks, wire management and accessories.

Vanguard Plastics Ltd., like Primex, is a plastic injection molding company with a 30-year history. They are a leading manufacturer of fenestration, shelf supports and plastic handled shopping baskets. Through a previous acquisition, Premo Plastics Ltd., Vanguard also added plastic medicine vials, nursery potting containers and aerial ignition equipment and devices to their portfolio of products.
