Grand Rapids, MI – Stiles Machinery Inc. announced Chandler Inc. of Afton, MN as the winner of the Weeke Vantech Video Contest. Chandler is a design and manufacturing company, specializing in retail merchandising fixtures, branded interiors, dealer showroom displays and trade show exhibits. They were one of the first entrants into the contest and are eager to receive their new Weeke Vantech router.

This is a great opportunity,” said John Chandler, President of Chandler Inc. “We have been on the cusp of upgrading our manufacturing capabilities for years and this is just the push we needed to take the next step. The entire company is excited to get the Vantech in place and operating, and take things to the next level with our business.”

Stiles introduced the Weeke Vantech Video Contest in June, 2010, inviting companies who don’t currently have a CNC router to submit a creative video explaining why they deserved to win a free machine for a year. The winner would receive a Weeke Vantech 480 model router including the cost of freight to deliver it, training, installation, $2,000 of free tooling from Leitz Tooling Inc., and a new camcorder to record video blogs of their experiences with the machine over the course of one year.

Stiles is hopeful that the video blogs Chandler posts will serve as an educational tool for other businesses hoping to add CNC technology to their manufacturing processes. “Taking that first step into this level of technology is a big deal to most small businesses,” says Stephan Waltman, V.P. of Sales and Marketing at Stiles. “Providing this opportunity to learn from a peer who’s moving through the experience can help them in their planning process and, hopefully, reduce the level of intimidation that may be involved with integrating CNC into a shop.”

The videos submitted for entry to the contest, including Chandler’s winning video, can be seen online. Chandler’s video blogs will also be posted to the web site for visitors to share in Chandler’s experiences with their new technology.

The Weeke Vantech Video Contest from Stiles is sponsored by Leitz Tooling Inc., Vance Publishing, the Cabinet Maker’s Association, Watt Publishing, and Woodshop News Magazine.
