VAXJO, SWEDEN - Södra Interiör is to buy UAB Aldrea in Panevezys, Lithuania, which processes MDF panels to make interior products. The company’s present range of products includes boards, panels, levelling pieces, cornicing and kitchen hatches. Södra Interiör will take possession of the company on 1 April.

“Aldrea is already one of our large, important suppliers, and we currently buy a relatively large proportion of what they produce,” said Håkan Svensson, president of Södra Interiör.

“We perceive major market opportunities for more or less the entire product range. This company is a good complement to our MDF panel production facility in Jokkmokk and gives Södra Interiör an opportunity to make additional, more complex products,” continued Svensson.

Södra intends to invest in extending the capacity of the company. Aldrea had a turnover of SEK 35 million last year and employs 87 staff.
