Winston-Salem, NC – Smith Phillips Building Supply, headquartered in Winston-Salem, NC, is pleased to announce that COO Chris Yenrick has been recognized as the “Grassroots Dealer of the Year”. The award was given by the National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) at the 2011 Spring NLBMDA Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

Yenrick received the award from NLBMDA chairman Joe Collings. In addition to playing an instrumental role in the successful effort to promote practical boom truck and crane regulations, Yenrick was active at the state level guiding legislation, said Collings.

The award, given annually, is in recognition and deep appreciation for advancing the legislative priorities of the lumber and building materials industry through leadership in grassroots political involvement.

“I am honored to be recognized as the Grassroots Dealer of the Year,” said Yenrick. “The National Lumber and Building Material Dealers Association was instrumental in showing me the importance of getting involved in the legislative and regulatory processes and that my voice can make a difference in the outcomes that affect our business on a daily basis. This was proven in our work on the OSHA Crane Rule and the personal relationships I now have with my elected representatives on Capitol Hill.”

An independent, locally owned and operated business, Smith Phillips Building Supply has been serving the Triad area since 1880. Their Winston-Salem and Statesville locations offer the same high quality selection of building supply products and quick on-site delivery that have been hallmarks of their service for over 130 years.
