WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-Maine) today visited Greenwood-based Saunders Bros. at Locke Mills, which is one of four in Maine recently purchased by Louise Jonaitis in partnership with other investors. The mill, specializing in wood products, commenced operations with a small crew and eventually plans to increase staff and volume in the hope of becoming the “Rolling Pin Capital of New England.”

“This investment presents significant opportunity for economic development and job creation in the region, which has undoubtedly struggled in this very tumultuous economic climate,” said Senator Snowe. “To ensure businesses like Saunders Bros have the ability to grow, innovate and prosper, I will continue fighting alongside my colleagues from both sides of the aisle for a pro-jobs, pro-growth agenda that puts America’s hardworking families and entrepreneurs back to work.”
