PELLA, Iowa – July 28, 2010 – Eleven Pella Corporation team members who transport Pella® Windows & Doors and materials used in the manufacture of them by truck have earned recognition from the National Safety Council (NSC) for their longtime leadership in safe transportation.

De Ronde named region's "Best Safe Driver"
Pella Corporation's C. Jay De Ronde earned the Best Safe Driver of the Year award in NSC's West North Central Region. As one of 11 regional winners honored by the NSC, he will also be considered for the 2010 Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year Award to be presented later this year. Terms of that evaluation process are not disclosed by NSC.

Ten team members earn "Safe Driver Award of Honor"
The NSC recognized De Ronde and other Pella Corporation private fleet team members for achieving at least 15 years of 250,000 miles of safe driving without an accident.

Pella Corporation logistics team members honored with NSC's "Safe Driver Award of Honor" for their outstanding driving records include: Scott Collette, Larry De Graaf, Randy Deur, Robert Deur, Darrin Geetings, Donald Rus, Michael Silvers, Kenneth Stouwie, Brad Vander Linden and Mike Zylstra.

"We're extremely proud of these dedicated Pella drivers who safely and professionally transport truckloads of Pella Windows and Doors over the road to help create better views in homes and businesses for Pella customers," said Joe Kendall, who manages Pella Corporation's private carrier trucking fleet. "The National Safety Council is a highly-respected organization so this recognition means a great deal to our team members and to Pella Corporation," he said.

Drivers were honored for their performance in safely and efficiently transporting Pella Windows & Doors and materials used by the privately-held, family-owned company headquartered in Pella, Iowa, serving customers throughout North America. This marks the first time Pella Corporation applied for and earned NSC transportation awards, Kendall said.
