ligna.tv – Internet TV Channel Serving the Industry

Berlin/Hannover - News, topical issues, panel discussions, interviews: In May 2013, ligna.tv – dedicated to content relevant to the woodworking industries – will commence broadcasting from a studio at Stand E03 in Hall 16, the busy hub of the trade fair LIGNA. At the end of each live broadcast all the recordings will be made available in German and English to Internet users worldwide.

This new and highly effective information channel, initiated by the VDMA Fachverband Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen (the association representing German woodworking machinery manufacturers), is a real bonus for professionals in the woodworking industry. The www.ligna.tv portal has been available since 2011. Apart from a technical and visual upgrade, this service will now benefit from additional, improved content and a bigger selection of high-quality journalistic items.

ligna.tv will feature three different broadcasting formats during the trade show day: firstly, Newsflash, which twice a day (at 9.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. respectively) will offer a round-up of the day’s key events in the style of a news broadcast. The featured content – which may be read or filmed – will include daily highlights, reports from press conferences, items on VIP visitors, presentations of awards, etc. There will also be interviews with studio guests.

Starting at 5.00 p.m. daily, the magazine program LIGNA Reporter will be dedicated to product highlights at the trade fair. As from Sunday 5 May and until the event closes on 10 May, several teams will be touring the halls preparing short film contributions on interesting exhibits and innovations. New reports will be broadcast in the magazine program every day.

However the flagship broadcast of the new channel is the LIGNA Journal, which on each day of the trade fair will focus on a core theme. Over a period of approx. 45 minutes a team of two presenters will interview prominent guests, moderate discussions involving expert guests and show clips and short films. The program will start at 11.00 a.m. daily.
