ANN ARBOR, MI – The selection of cabinets and countertops at the same time is a great way for consumers to plan their dream kitchen or bath. It’s also an opportunity for designers to exercise all the options in a great room, and for dealers to streamline the design and selection process while driving up sales volumes.

Merillat® brings intelligence and innovation to cabinets for the kitchen and bath. Style selections combine function and organization with beauty that work well in any room. Now the style and function of Merillat can be integrated with countertop colors and patterns in natural quartz, natural granite or solid surface from DeNova™.

“Designing the entire space offers much more control over the look and the performance of the cabinets and countertops in the individual spaces,” said Theresa Vitta, vice president of brand marketing for Merillat. “This results in a significant reduction in completion times.”

DeNova uses a laser templating process to accurately measure the countertop surfaces. This process replaces the traditional paper, cardboard or plywood templating, and can be used in new construction or remodeling projects, at the stud stage, drywall stage or with cabinets in place. In many cases, this process allows for delivery and installation of cabinetry, countertops and sinks at the same time, often with only one crew handling the installation.

In addition, Merillat dealers now have an interactive tool that will help consumer’s pair cabinets with countertops. The tool assists the user in comparing cabinets and countertops together, using color and material to unify, complement or contrast within the space. It allows consumers to see what their selections will really look like in their space, and help them select the look that truly represents their personal style.

Integration is especially effective in increasing vanity sales, where the possibilities for design and style statements are endless. “We’re taking the lead in helping dealers increase volumes by giving them the tools to turn every cabinet sale into a countertop sale,” Vitta said.
