IWF: Nordson presents its PWIII profile wrapping applicator

Duluth, GA- Nordson Corporation recently released the PWIII™ profile wrapping applicator. This third generation of Nordson’s successful PW series profile wrapping applicators takes the already state-of-the-art technology to the next level. PWIII applicators maximize production efficiency and flexibility while simplifying maintenance and operation. The result is potential cost saving as there is less material and time waste.

The PWIII applicator delivers time-saving changeovers with motor-controlled adjustment from 100 mm up to maximum head width via touch-screen control. The applicator allows for independent single-side adjustment to increase application flexibility. And, separately controlled heating zones support temperature control to maintain adhesive viscosity, providing coating uniformity, across the entire width and length of the substrate. In addition, the compact design integrates easily into parent machinery to facilitate a more seamless, efficient work environment.

Maintenance is simplified with easy access to PWIII applicator components along with a hinged nozzle – so heavy, unwieldy parts don’t have to be completely removed. The one-touch opening and closing sequences are completed in 90 seconds so the nozzle can be cleaned quickly and easily. And, the applicator design allows a filter change in less than 90 seconds.
