interzum 2013 on Track for Success

* Already more than 600 bookings (+ 8 %)
* Strong demand for space in all segments
* Growing international participation
* InnoMateria to showcase innovative materials parallel to interzum

All Koelnmesse's events relating to home living, interior design and furnishings enjoy great popularity all over the world and can boast high booking levels with an excellent demand for space. interzum, the international venue for the supplier industry, is no exception: by June 2012, 612 companies had already made definite bookings. This corresponds to an increase of approx. 8 % as compared to the same point in 2010. The space in many of the halls is thus already virtually sold out. In particular, the event's popularity with foreign firms shows no signs of abating. In 2013, interzum will also be enhancing its profile with the InnoMateria trade fair and congress, which will take place parallel to the suppliers show for the first time.

The available space at interzum 2013 is highly sought after - in fact, it is already becoming scarce in some halls. "The level of bookings is extraordinarily good, a great many exhibitors took advantage of the early bird period and have confirmed their participation," explains Matthias Pollmann, Project Manager of interzum. Of the 612 registrations already received, 195 have come from German companies and 417 from abroad. The biggest contingent of exhibitors comes from Italy, closely followed by Turkey and Spain. interzum 2013 will also grow in terms of group organisations: associations from Brazil, Rumania, Sweden and Vietnam have been acquired for the forthcoming event. "It's very clear just how important interzum is as a platform for the global furniture supplier industry," says Pollmann. As compared to the same point in 2010, there has been an approx. 8 % increase in the number of exhibitors and an almost 5 % rise in the amount of space booked. 1,450 exhibitors are expected to participate in 2013. These pleasing figures are also reflected in the high level of occupancy in Halls 6, 7, 8 and 9, where only smaller, individual spaces are still available. As a result of the new structure with three segments instead of seven, Hall 6 is now allocated to the Materials & Nature segment, Halls 7 and 8 to Function & Components and Hall 9 to Textile & Machinery.

"We're starting in pole position," says Matthias Pollmann. "We will use this excellent starting point and the lead it gives us to set interzum 2013 on the home straight with further strategic measures designed to promote the format's development." Every two years, as a major source of impetus for the design of tomorrow's living spaces, interzum showcases the industry's world firsts, product innovations and concept studies. The trade show format has evolved from a fair purely for suppliers into the sector's No. 1 innovation hub and is thus a must-attend event in the trade show diaries of decision-makers in the furniture industry and interior finishing sector.

Another success factor for interzum 2013 is the interdisciplinary InnoMateria trade fair and congress, which will take place parallel to the suppliers' show. The event is dedicated to the preliminary stages in the development of, for example, the kind of products on show at interzum. Visitors will thus gain a unique insight into new materials and their usability for furniture production and interior finishing. "The future starts at interzum. InnoMateria 2013 will be adding yet another interesting focal point: the theme of innovative materials," says Pollmann. "The two events complement one another excellently and will be proposing even more concepts and potential solutions for new developments to our visitors from all over the world."

The next interzum will take place from:
13th - 16th May 2013
