GREENGUARD certifies residential kitchen, bath wood cabinetry
ATLANTA, GA -- The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is pleased to announce today that Executive Cabinetry, LLC has become the first residential kitchen and bath cabinet manufacturer to earn GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification and GREENGUARD Children & Schools(SM) Certification--the highest level of indoor air quality certification--for its wood cabinetry.

These residential wood cabinets are the first products of their kind to pass the rigorous chemical emissions tests required to earn GREENGUARD Certification. This means that the cabinets meet some of the world's most stringent requisites for low chemical emissions and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable residential indoor environment.

"We are thrilled that Executive Cabinetry took the initiative to ensure that their residential wood products are low-emitting," says Henning Bloech, executive director of GEI. "Not only does this demonstrate the company's commitment to human health, but it also demonstrates their market leadership: this is the first time that a healthier option for residential wood cabinetry has come into the marketplace. It's a great boon to the sustainable building and design industry--and to residents."

The following products from Executive Cabinetry, LLC have earned GREENGUARD Children & Schools(SM) Certification:
  --  Wood Stains
  --  Paints (except Sagamore Collection)
  --  Foil
  --  Glazes
  --  EcoFriendly(TM) (except bamboo)
  --  Bellini Foil
  --  Bellini Vogue Veneers
  --  Impact Wood
  --  Impact Paint

EcoFriendly(TM) cabinetry helps green building and design professionals qualify for points in the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® Building Rating System and the National Association of Homebuilders' National Green Building Standard.

To account for the cabinetry's use in a home environment, a residential model and air change rate (as described in the GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Standard for Buildings Materials, Finishes, and Furnishings) was used in the testing of the product's chemical emissions.
