The new model 75-040 M1 5/8-inch hollow-chisel mortiser from General International is equipped with a heavy-duty cast-iron head, column and base for steady, vibration-free performance.

The 75-040 M1 features a powerful ½ HP 110V single phase motor with start capacitor for smooth start-up and a dust protected on/off switch.

A large ergonomically designed feed handle with extra long, multi-position arm for better leverage and increased feed control can be installed on either side of the machine to suit both right or left handed operators. The head slides on precision machined dovetail ways and the maximum 5”stroke is controlled by a gas head-cylinder for smooth operation and has adjustable stops to control both down stroke depth and upstroke travel.

The unit is equipped with a large 14-1/4 by 11 1/8 -inch table with telescopic extensions that can add up to an extra 22 ½ inches (11 ¼” each) of workpiece support. A large 14” by 3” adjustable one-piece cast fence, an easy adjust workpiece stop, and an easy adjust fence-mounted hold down and non-marking rubber table rollers are all standard equipment.

The 75-040 M1 is supplied with one each 5/8-inch shank ¼, 5/16, 3/8 and ½-inch mortising chisel/bit sets and can be used with up to 5/8-inch sized chisel/bit sets - sold separately. A chisel adaptor bushing is also included to allow the machine to be used with all 5/8 or ¾-inch shank chisel/bits sets that are available from other after-market sources.
