HOLDEN, MA -- Furniture by Dovetail announced that Mr. Jonas Geiger has purchased a majority interest in the company. The manufacturer of handcrafted wood furniture was founded in 1988 by Robert and Annette Loring.
Mr. Loring will continue in the business on a daily basis as Vice President of Sales and minority owner together with Geiger Family, LLC, an investment firm with holdings in real estate, metal product manufacturing and organic farming.
Mr. Geiger, who will serve as President of Furniture by Dovetail, grew up in the business. His father, John Geiger, founded a wood company in Toronto, Canada in 1964 that ultimately became Geiger International and later was acquired by Herman Miller. Jonas Geiger has held positions at both Geiger International and Furniture by Dovetail during his career. He has worked in all phases of the contract furniture business and led environmental initiatives at Geiger. In his previous role at Furniture by Dovetail, Mr. Geiger focused on operations.
"I am excited about the opportunities presented by the new corporate structure," said Mr. Loring. "It has provided the capital we need to grow strategically while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service."
Said Mr. Geiger: "I look forward to continuing the tradition of quality and excellence that Rob and his family have built while working to expand the business to a world-class organization not only in design but also in quality, service and environmental responsibility."
