NEW ALBANY, OH -- Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc., a leading supplier of fully integrated system solutions for the global commercial vehicle market is pleased to announce that its innovative new product, FlameTEK™, has been named a 2011 TechColumbus Innovation Awards Semi-Finalist.
FlameTEK™ is a self-extinguishing interior trim product that is ideally suited for passenger bus, rail, aviation, marine, commercial and military vehicle applications. In addition to being self extinguishing (exceeds UL94-V0 and meets Bombardier SMP 800 C Toxic Off Gassing Standards), this new trim technology offers enhanced thermal performance helping to improve HVAC operation which can lead to reductions in fuel consumption. It also improves acoustic performance by reducing road noise and improving the vehicle operator environment including antimicrobial, UV and chemical resistance while mitigating impact with various levels of padding available up to 38mm thickness. In addition, as an interior trim product, FlameTEK™ adapts to curved surfaces, fitting a variety of vehicle configurations while providing styling flexibility.
The TechColumbus Innovation Awards celebrate the spirit of innovation by recognizing outstanding technology achievements in Central Ohio. TechColumbus will announce the final award winners at a dinner to be held at the Columbus Convention Center on Thursday, February 3, 2011.
