MARKHAM, CANADA -- Flakeboard Company Limited announced today that it has reached an agreement with Roseburg Forest Products for the sale of Flakeboard's Louisiana Particleboard (LPB) plant.
According to Flakeboard President and CEO, Kelly Shotbolt; "Roseburg is a long term and respected member of the composite panel business and we believe this transaction will be good for the mill, the employees, and the customers that rely on LPB. This transaction will allow Flakeboard to better focus our resources and align our assets with the long term strategic goals of the company. We will work cooperatively with Roseburg during the upcoming transition to ensure the employees are supported and customers continue receiving an uninterrupted supply of products from the LPB facility. Flakeboard remains fully committed to the composite panel industry and looks forward to further strengthening our product offerings while providing the product quality and customer service from our other 7 composite panel facilities that our customers have come to rely on.
The two companies are estimating a closing date in early July.
