Glen Ellyn, IL -- From breezy Bermuda to upscale Naperville to chic Hinsdale to classic Glen Ellyn, an array of Drury Design's client projects won 2010 National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Chicago Midwest Design Vision Awards. "It's such an honor for us to share these awards with our clients and collaborators. Their inspiration and vision contributed to making these projects come alive," said Gail Drury, certified master kitchen and bath designer (CMKBD) and Drury Design's CEO.

Award-winning Kitchen and Bath Designers Partner with Architects, Home Builders and Interior Designers

Drury Design's team won six awards and an honorable mention in the 2010 National Kitchen and Bath Association of Illinois' Midwest Design Visions Awards Competition.

Gail Drury, CMKBD, won first place in the large bath category. Mrs. Drury shares the award with the homeowner and design partner, Marilyn Akins, ASID. A renowned Hinsdale interior designer, Ms. Akins is a member of the prestigious American Society for Interior Design [ASID] and is known for her distinctive interior designs.

Ms. Akins describes the award-winning bath project, "I loved working with Gail and her team to create a unique and contemporary version of a Victorian bathroom, hence the vanity with its elegant glass legs and the Victorian shapes of the marble tiles. The color of the aqua marble tiles and slabs are suggestive of water and contribute a sense of tranquility. I advise working with both a bath designer and an interior designer to get the best results."

Gladys Schanstra, who is a Certified Kitchen Designer and Certified Bath Designer [CKD and CBD], took several honors, including third place small kitchen; second place medium kitchen; second place large kitchen for a project in Bermuda; second place small bath; honorable mention large bath and third place other room. Two complex projects received multiple awards. A multi-level home renovation updated a traditional Glen Ellyn design with Hamptons influences.
Mrs. Schanstra led the Drury Design team, in creative partnership with Glen Ellyn Homes, Derrick Architecture and interior designer Patricia Coppersmith, to fulfill a Wheaton client's desire to extensively renovate their townhome.

Earlier this year, Drury Designer Tina Muller won an NKBA national large kitchen design award. The design also was a winner in the regional 2010 Wolf Sub-Zero kitchen designcompetition. Drury Design is a Chicago area Sub-Zero and Wolf dealer.
