Collins Pine FreeForm now moisture resistant
Klamath Falls, OR — The Collins Companies continues its pursuit of innovation with its particleboard product line. The newest improvement is that FreeForm now meets the moisture resistant specifications for ANSI MR-10 per the ASTM D 1037-06a for 24 hour water absorption. This comes on top of the announcement that Collins is one of the first particleboard manufacturers in the United States to be certified under the California Air Resources Board CARB Phase 2, the most stringent formaldehyde regulation in the world. In addition, Collins Pine FreeForm contains 100% recycled post-industrial fibers, is FSC-certified, and is LEED compliant.

MR or Moisture Resistant Particleboard is a type of particleboard with a special water-resistant resin added to the panel to ensure moisture resistant properties. According to Mike Shuey, particleboard
sales, with The Collins Companies, “This product is particularly good for use in areas which are prone to wetness such as kitchen and bath applications and parts of the country which are subject to high
humidity or consistent moisture such as the southeast and pacific northwest. The moisture resistant properties decrease the likelihood of finding mold or mildew in our product.”compliant.
