Cabinet sales decline in 2010
Kitchen Cabinet & Vanity Market Projected to Grow
RESTON, VA . . . According to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association’s monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported sales totaling $4.5 billion for 2010 down -4.1 percent compared to total sales for 2009. Stock sales were down -6.7 percent; semi-custom sales were down -0.5 percent; and custom sales were down -13.2 percent.

December 2010 monthly sales were down -9.7 percent compared to December 2009. Stock sales were down -5.2 percent; semi-custom sales were down -13.5 percent; custom sales were down -9.5 percent compared to December 2000.

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent well over 60 percent of the fragmented U.S. cabinet market. KCMA is the major trade association for manufacturers of kitchen cabinets and bath vanities, and suppliers of goods and services to the industry. All major U.S. cabinet manufacturing companies belong to KCMA. Sixty-three percent of KCMA cabinet manufacturer members report sales under $10 million annually. KCMA has been collecting industry sales data for over forty years.
