AF&PA Announces Two New Government Affairs Directors

WASHINGTON, DC – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) is pleased to announce that Ben Bell and Paul Poe have each been named Director of AF&PA Government Affairs. Ben and Paul will be responsible for promoting AF&PA’s policy positions on Capitol Hill and in state legislatures respectively.

Bell comes to AF&PA with significant legislative branch and trade association experience. He was most recently Senior Legislative Assistant for Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC) and previously served as a Legislative Aide for Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-GA). Ben had also served in membership and legislative roles for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Southern Governors’ Association respectively.

Poe is an accomplished attorney who has focused on government affairs, environmental and corporate law. Before joining AF&PA, he had opened his own law practice. He has extensive experience with the Williams Company having served as Manager of State Government and Regulatory Affairs.

Bell earned his BS from Louisiana State University. Poe earned his BA from Brescia University, his MA from Drew University, his JD from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law and his LLM from Georgetown University.
