Federal Way, WA – Weyerhaeuser has increased production of its new Trus Joist® TJI® Joists with Flak JacketTM protection, which feature a specialty coating that enhances the joists’ fire resistance. By upgrading to more advanced, high-tech manufacturing techniques and adding an extra shift at its Boise, Idaho, facility, the company has significantly expanded its capacity to meet growing demand for the innovative product line as well as accommodate ongoing improvement in the single- and multi-family housing markets.

Introduced in 2012, Trus Joist TJI Joists with Flak Jacket protection provide builders with a simple, cost-effective way to comply with the 2012 IRC fire protection requirements for singlefamily homes. In multi-family applications, TJI Joists with Flak Jacket protection also make it easy to achieve one-hour floor/ceiling assemblies.
