Bielefeld, Germany - Exhibitors at the 18th ZOW supplier fair for the furniture and interiors industry, which ran between 6-9 February 2012 at the Bad Salzuflen exhibition centre, confirmed that the quality of this year's visitors was outstanding. Renowned furniture manufacturers, including well-known companies such as Interlübke, Nobilia, Rauch and Ikea, from all over Germany and their senior managers attended ZOW. Andreas Bielefeld, head of product development at Nobila and a member of the ZOW advisory board: "Again and again ZOW introduces us to suppliers who surprise us with their great products. This is the place where decisions have to be made if you will show new furniture in autumn."

In total ZOW attracted 671 exhibitors from 33 countries and more than 17 500 visitors. The majority of visitors, some 65%, were German, but many foreign companies also attended ZOW. The importance of the East Westphalian-Lippe region as a location for suppliers to the international furniture industry is indisputable: 40% of all supplier products manufactured in Germany are produced here. At 35%, the proportion of visitors from abroad increased slightly in 2012 compared with the previous year. Historically most companies have come from the Benelux, the UK, Scandinavia and Italy, but there were also a good number of Polish and Russian firms at Bad Salzuflen in 2012. Visitors didn't just include industry and interiors, representatives of well-known trade organisations and other related sectors such as mechanical engineering also attended the trade fair in Bad Salzuflen.

Top furniture companies come to ZOW 2012ZOW is focusing on information, communication and networking more than ever before. Contacts are made, networks established and new deals initiated at the event. Here you can learn first hand the very latest about future technologies such as lightweight construction, RFID and new technologies used in furniture production. 2013 will feature a new exhibition concept in hall 22.1 dedicated to this trend. Horst Rudolph, managing director of the exhibition organiser, Clarion Events Deutschland: "Here we will be giving companies a platform with a specific stand architecture focusing on communication in the centre of the exhibition. The area is designed to appeal in particular to those exhibitors who don't launch new products every year but are wanting to make personal contact with their target market at an early stage – to fit in with the ordering cycle of the furniture industry."

Holger Dzeia, managing director of Interprint and member of the ZOW advisory board is very positive about this offer from Clarion Events: "This offer will be of interest to a whole range of familiar businesses within the supplier industry and we can certainly envisage being one of them." ZOW is changing – moving away from a place where products are simply presented to more of a focus on communication and networking – but its importance as a supplier platform for the furniture and interiors industry in the East Eestphalian-Lippe region remains the same. The slogan for ZOW 2013 sums it up perfectly: "ZOW – your key to the market."
