EUREKA, Calif. - The California Redwood Company announced today that it is expanding its product line to include premium planter boxes, raised beds, and patio furniture, extending the beauty of redwood from the deck to the rest of the yard. The products, with suggested retail prices ranging from $50 to $700, will be available starting in March in stores and online. “We’re excited to bring new redwood options to the garden,” said Chris Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing, The California Redwood Company. “While they look great and are designed to last a long time, it’s also a great application of lumber remnants that we haven’t seen before.”

The premium planter boxes – manufactured at artisan woodworking facilities in California – were designed with a long life in mind, featuring GeoPots inside each container. These removable liners help minimize contact of soil and water with the wood, while the increased airflow also helps promote better plant health and minimizes root compression often found in container gardening.

Darker accent pieces used in the planter box designs are reclaimed pieces of redwood that were used in the past for separating wood stacks in the kilns. Their smaller sizes made these pieces unusable before.

“It doesn’t matter if you need to give a climbing plant a good foundation, flank a garden path with bright flowers, or bring a punch of color to your privacy fence, this is a beautiful and durable option that will look even more beautiful as it ages,” said Chris Brown.
