Textiles Segment to be Strongly Represented at Interzum

interzum presents the whole range of materials and production methods of the supply industry for furniture as well as for interior construction. In addition, it will also cater to new sectors, like the automobile industry, for instance. The Textile + Machinery segment, in particular, is extremely relevant in this respect due to the “Textile Production Line” special event area in Hall 10.1. Alongside industry leaders like Juki, Dürkopp Adler, Expert, Gerber, Lectra und Pfaff who will be presenting their processing technologies, renowned automobile brands like Jaguar are participating, with the textile components of their products to be manufactured for them live. With this concept, interzum proves once more that a

trade fair doesn’t impress only in its capacity as an innovative product showcase;it must also offer practical added value by staging exciting events.

interzum has established itself as the leading international trade fair within the supply industry for furniture production and interior construction. But there are other industries for which the fair is gaining in relevance as well. There have been high levels of interest from the automobile industry in the almost booked-out Textile + Machinery

segment in particular. The “Textile Production Line” concept which was developed for interzum 2013 is contributing in large part to this increased level of interest. “With this event area, we are showing once again that we don’t just offer our visitors a perfect presentation of products. We also want to turn the fair into an experience,” says project manager Matthias Pollmann. “The ‘Textile Production Line’ is a very successful example of both products and solutions being presented in a practical manner.”

Whereas in 2013 only seats for a mobile home were produced, this year the focus is on a variety of components for the automobile industry. The scope ranges from seat covers to floor mats to textile covers for the car interior. This concept enabled Matthias Pollmann and his team to generate enthusiasm among some of the industry leaders to act as cooperation partners once more. “Juki, Dürkopp Adler, Expert, Gerber, Lectra und

Pfaff are on board. In addition, Jaguar, the venerable automobile brand, has confirmed its participation. They will present the production of one of their textile products here – live. And other car brands will follow their lead.”

Guided tours through the special exhibition are planned in German and English. The “Textile Production Line” ends directly at the Forum in Hall 10.1, where the Upholstered Furniture & Bedding (“Polster & Bedding”) workshop will take place, with experts giving presentations on current topics several times a day.
