GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Stiles Machinery Inc., in partnership with HOMAG Group of Germany, hosted Engineered Wood Flooring Days in High Point, NC on May 2 & 3, 2012. This new event brought together 75 industry representatives for the two-day seminar.

“The engineered wood flooring industry has experienced tremendous changes due to the expansion in global competition,” stated Joe Keilen, Senior Product Manager for Stiles. “With this event, we generated new ideas to help the industry become stronger and more competitive. “

Industry experts presented relevant topics including the impact of global influences, industry trends, and new technology available for efficient production methods. According to Roland Dengler, Head of Flooring Department for HOMAG Group Engineering, “A greater number of manufacturers are endeavoring to distinguish their offering from the competition by going down the special-purpose product route.”

Equipment demonstrations also highlighted methods to increase volume and efficiency throughout the entire production cycle including veneer options, pressing, cross-cutting, sanding, finishing, nesting, packaging and clip insertion. “We provided a forum for businesses to discover what new technology is available and gave attendees a chance to network,” acknowledged Keilen.
