SEATTLE — Seattle Business magazine honored 19 top manufacturers in the state at its Washington Manufacturing Awards event last night at the Seattle Design Center. The event was attended by 280 members of the region’s manufacturing community.

Spencer Cabinetry was one of two small companies from the building trades presented with this award. Their citation called out Spencer Cabinetry’s remarkable growth rate through the Recession, their continuing capital expansion and job creation, and their innovative and efficient production system

In his acceptance speech, General Manager Carl Spencer acknowledged the influence of Taiichi Ohno, the primary developer of the Toyota Production System on which the Spencers’ plant is based. “To this system we owe our higher quality and better value which carried us through tough times.”

Spencer Cabinetry has recently developed their new EuroDesigner™ line of cabinets, improving on the structural integrity and quality of modern-looking frameless cabinetry while reducing its installed cost.

The awards program was supported by sponsors Chase Commercial Banking, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and Impact Washington.
