Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association Elects Officers

PITTSBURGH – Members of the Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association (SCMA) elected officers for 2015 at the association’s Annual Meeting on March 25, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Linwood Truitt, Beasley Forest Products, Inc., Hazlehurst, Georgia, was elected president. Truitt has 35 years of experience in the sawmill industry. In 2000, he was responsible for introducing the manufacture of cypress and hardwood grade lumber at Beasley Forest Products, where he currently serves as general sales manager.

Brian Meier, Cypress Rose Sawmill, Homerville, Georgia, was elected vice president. With nearly three decades of experience in the wood products industry, Meier has spent the last 17 years dealing exclusively with cypress. He has served as general manager at Cypress Rose Sawmill since 2009.
