SILPRO, a new and innovative wood products company located in Eagle, Idaho announces the creation of five new-patented Products for use with wood I-joists under the registered Trademark of I CHOICE^®. 

Comer Brown, the President, states that their Products will revolutionize methodology of wood I-joist installation and floor assembly connections in the building industry. Unique and pre-assembled wood components designed around “builder-friendly” concepts, unavailable in the past, represents a break-through with simplicity in installation and higher quality structural performance for framers, builders, distributors, engineers, architects and wood I-joist manufacturers.  The Products use “visual-logic” in placement and positioning with precise solutions for difficult applications reducing chances for error and “red tags”.

 Brown describes the Products as follows:

q  Rim Board…with pre-machined modular receptacles spaced at 16”, 19.2” or 24” OC shaped to conform to the end cross-section of a specific I-joist assuring proper positioning and vertical alignment.

q  Insulation Panel…a modular pre-assembled combination of OSB and poly-foam insulation shaped to fit between two I-joists installed in tandem with I-joists.  The simultaneous installation with I-joist reduces the need for crawl space entry. 

q  Blocking Insulation Panel…a pre-fabricated multi-functional panel designed to provide extra vertical load capacity, easy installation of 19.2” I-joist spacing and represents the primary solution for exterior basement insulation in the floor assembly.

q  Support Block…a multi-purpose component designed to support high vertical loads and a connecting devise for sub-fascia and Rim Board on cantilevered I-joists and rafters. 

q  Blocking Panel…a pre-designed structural panel for use to bridge and connect horizontal I-joists, Rim boards, baffles and extra load carrying supports on multi-story structures.

New product development begets new business opportunities.  Brown indicates a national search is underway for fabricators/marketers interested in being licensed to produce and/or market I CHOICE Products.  Our first Licensee is Pasquier Panel Products, Inc. located in Sumner, WA, who represents the Pacific NW and Western Canada.  Like Pasquier, new candidates will have a strong reputation for reliability, quality workmanship, skills with corresponding equipment and facilities.  Knowledge of EWP products and markets would be most beneficial. 

Probable candidates are engaged in industrial manufacturing and supply the commercial and construction markets currently.  Many of them have the necessary equipment in-place for processing I CHOICE Products.
