Digital Kiosk to Showcase Student Portfolios at GlobalShop

Hollywood, Fla. - The work of 66 students representing 14 schools and five countries will be available for viewing at GlobalShop, April 16-18, in a new digital portfolio kiosk that will be launched at the show.

The kiosk concept and production came from professors Veronica Romano and Craig Berger of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), in coordination with PAVE.

Romano, a PAVE Board member and CEO of Veronica Romano Creative Services LLC, not only helped implement the project, but also designed the kiosk along with Mona Lisa Tan, an FIT student who won PAVE's Student Design Competition in 2010 and was a finalist in the 2010-11 PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge. B+N Industries is donating and producing the kiosk housing unit, Fresh Juice Global is providing the technology, and Panasonic is supplying the screens. And, GlobalShop is donating space for the kiosk.

Says Romano, "My vision was to create a kiosk as a catalyst for connecting students to the industry globally, resulting in ongoing relationships. Our team has been awesome! A.R.E., industry sponsors, academia, and students have all rallied to achieve this vision and the mission of PAVE: to support and interact with students."

The kiosk will be on exhibit in booth 3133 for the duration of GlobalShop, April 16-18, at McCormick Place in Chicago. The location of the kiosk is next to the PAVE the Way 3D Design Challenge booth, outside of the Design Inspiration Showcase at the center of the show floor. The global student digital portfolios will also be available for viewing online at PAVE's web site, www.paveinfo.org, in mid-April.
