RSI Announces Staff Change and Acquisition of PCS

NEWPORT BEACH, CA- RSI Home Products, Inc., the largest manufacturer in terms of units sold of kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, medicine cabinets and cultured marble countertop products in the U.S. and Canada, announced today that effective July 15, 2013, Thomas Chieffe will join the company as its chief executive officer. In related news, RSI Home Products also announced that it will acquire its sister company, Professional Cabinet Solutions (PCS), a manufacturer of European-style frameless kitchen and bath cabinets that are sold to homebuilders and kitchen and bath dealers.

"There couldn't be a more perfect time for these changes at RSI," said Alex Calabrese, president and CEO of RSI Holding LLC. "The company is clearly positioned as the industry's leader. By adding Tom's insight and vast experience in all segments of our business, we will greatly accelerate our growth and expansion plans."

Chieffe succeeds Calabrese, who will continue to serve as the company's executive chairman of the board. RSI has also formed a board of directors' executive committee, which consists of the company's founder and major shareholder Ronald M. Simon, Calabrese and David Lowrie, the company's corporate chief financial officer.

Chieffe brings a wealth of relevant business experience to RSI. Most recently, he worked as an operating executive with Oak Tree Capital, a leading private equity investment firm. Prior to Oak Tree, Chieffe spent about four years as CEO of Associated Materials Incorporated (AMI), a leading manufacturer of windows and vinyl siding for the housing industry. Before AMI, he spent approximately twelve years with Masco Corporation (MAS), serving as group vice president of retail kitchens and as president of Kraftmaid®, where he was responsible for building the brand into the industry leader in semi-custom kitchens.

"I am privileged to join this great company and look forward to working alongside its very talented management and leadership team to guide its future growth and success," said Chieffe.

RSI Home Products will soon acquire full ownership of Professional Cabinets Solutions (PCS), a sister company currently owned by RSI Founder Ronald M. Simon. PCS is located in Mira Loma, Calif., and currently has 300 employees. Both entities will continue to operate independently as separate business units under the RSI umbrella while taking advantage of corporate, supply chain and cross-selling synergies.

Each of RSI's operating divisions will report directly to Chieffe and continue to be led by their current management leaders; Jeff Hoeft, president and chief operating officer of RSI Home Products, which serves the retail home improvement channel; and Eric VanDerHeyden, president and chief operating officer of Professional Cabinet Solutions, which serves the new construction/builder, kitchen and bath dealer and distributor channel.
