REHAU has been taking over the front panel market with RAUVISIO brilliant since 2013.

Tired of complicated lacquer structures, many joiners and furniture manufacturers have been migrating to this optically identical high-gloss laminate due to its realistic depth effect. Two years after the market launch, REHAU has extended its colour range by three new attractive colour shades and further improved the scratch resistance of RAUVISIO brilliant compared to standard, non-lacquered competitor products.

The new high-gloss laminate: for a perfect, all-round lustre

High-gloss lacquered elements represent stylish looks and the finest quality. However, they do have one disadvantage: A truly flawless high gloss can only be accomplished with traditional lacquer after several processing stages, which is correspondingly expensive and time-consuming. That is why REHAU developed its high-gloss laminate RAUVISIO brilliant for coating vertical front panels and demonstrated the material at interzum 2013 in Cologne for the first time. It has been a great success: This latest-generation high-gloss laminate can replace high-quality lacquered elements thanks to its excellent depth effect. A full, richly lustred element is the result of a zero-joint between board and edgeband coupled with skilled craftsmanship, for flawless front panels of the finest design quality - total seamless integration.

New for interzum 2015: improved scratch resistance, extended colour range

RAUVISIO brilliant has many advantages: The high-gloss laminate is very resistant to UV; for interior applications, provably for at least 20 years. The versatile material possesses excellent colour quality and brilliance, and can be individually cut to the required dimensions using every-day woodworking tools. The significantly improved scratch resistance compared to standard, non-lacquered market competitors is a new feature for interzum 2015. Edgebanded components finished with RAUVISIO brilliant meet the latest AMK requirements for temperature, steam and alternating climate resistance and are TÜV tested.

And in terms of processing, RAUVISIO brilliant is almost limitless: custom-made cuts are child’s play. The same applies to drilled holes for fixing handles or other fittings to any desired part. And because the material is bendable, it can be formed into almost any shape.

Until now, RAUVISIO brilliant was available in ten colours. REHAU has added three appealing colours to this range for interzum 2015: Rame Metallic (metallic copper), Marrone (dark brown) and Notte (dark blue).

RAUVISIO brilliant is available to customers at various added-value levels to enable craftsmen – from joiners, to shopfitters through to furniture manufacturers – to satisfy all their customers’ de-mands. Customers can choose between three services:

1. Purchasing individual components such as laminate, balancing sheet and edgeband for in-house processing

2. Purchasing pressed large size boards

3. Configuring custom-made laser-edgebanded front panels for single-unit orders and up-wards

For the individual components, delivery includes 0.8 mm thin high-gloss laminate (now in 13 colours), a perfectly colour-coordinated balancing sheet in embossed design that we devel-oped, and six edgeband designs – in zero-joint quality on request. In total, there are 39 edgebands visually suited to the surfaces, which are made available by REHAU for RAUVISIO brilliant.

In addition to the individual components, REHAU also delivers finished, pressed large size boards on request. The base material is MDF in size 1,300 x 2,800. There are four standard board thicknesses: 12 mm, 16 mm, 18 mm and 28 mm.
