From the symmetrical elegance of antiquity through to concrete, the building material of the modern world: RAUVISIO has enlarged its portfolio for interzum 2015.

With Avorio and Cemento, REHAU is inviting its customers into new design worlds – with all the familiar design advantages of this high-quality mineral material. A flame-retardant version with thicknesses starting at 6 mm will also be presented.

Design variety combined with the finest material properties

RAUVISIO mineral can realise almost any design idea – to the designer’s precise specifications and tailored to the customer’s demands. Its excellent processing features and comprehensive decorative design range with a wide variety of boards, basins and sinks mean this mineral mate-rial offers a multitude of different applications. Two new design lines, Avorio and Cemento, supply the new aesthetic features.

Avorio: timeless aesthetics with antique colour shades

Alabaster and marble have been valued, classic materials since antiquity due to their crystalline, translucent and graceful properties. These materials radiate enduring style and quality. Alabaster conveys a sense of pale, velvet-soft skin, of ancient sculptures and the warm light of the Mediterranean. In full harmony in every detail, simplicity of colour and refined texture combine in the new design line Avorio to create a timelessly elegant material.

Cemento: modern and sensuous

Concrete is trustworthy: Its almost organic surface structure seems to have a tale to tell and, despite its hard feel, transforms it into a sensuous material via its malleability and natural patina. Concrete experienced its breakthrough with the advent of modern architecture and has estab-lished itself as a cultural material that has been continually developed through refinement of its appearance, such as by pigmenting or sanding its surfaces. It is these very aspects with which the new colour spectrum Cemento plays for RAUVISIO mineral.

Oro and Visione: existing design lines for RAUVISIO mineral

The two new design worlds are the perfect addition to the two existing lines. Oro reawakens the full flourishing of the Renaissance to new life, in which durability and finery are given expression in artistic architecture through high-value materials such as gold brocade and damask. Noble surfaces of dark and deep colours reinforce the image. By contrast, the design line Visione re-flects the many faces of hyper-modern architecture: creative play with the elements of light, air and water, as well as transparency and translucence.

RAUVISIO mineral: perfect properties

RAUVISIO mineral is available in 71 solid colours and decorative designs, 42 of which can be ordered from stock from single units upwards. In addition to this stylistic diversity, it is the material properties that impress in particular. The solid, fully pigmented mineral material consists of one third acrylic resin and two thirds aluminium trihydroxide with colour pigmentation. The positive properties of the individual components combine to form a multi-purpose material that strongly resembles stone, but with a warmer, more attractive look and excellent processing properties.

RAUVISIO mineral exhibits considerably less stretching and shrinking behaviour in reaction to temperature stresses than comparable materials. The latter also contributes to easy processing, with low weight, stability and customisable product design all possible via thermal deformation.

Another product with improved fire resistance properties will be presented at interzum 2015. REHAU is now offering a flame-retardant mineral material from a thickness of 6 mm, which can stand freely without any support material. The new decorative design White FR was certified by a testing institute to new EU standards and has been proven to increase fire-resistance.
