Neumarkt/Cologne - Pfleiderer will be presenting its new decors at the "Interzum 2015" trade fair from the 19th - 24th January in Munich.

Pfleiderer is now adding a further twenty new decorative products to extend the decor and texture diversity, following the successful launch of its first joint range in 2013.This means that Pfleiderer now offers more than 300 decors and 16 different surface textures in the overall HPL range. More than 200 decors, 10 surface textures and 15 core materials are now integrated in the "DST system". Within this system, decors, textures and cores can be combined within our recommendation for virtually all interior finishing requirements.

For the first time ever, the wood-based panel manufacturer is also inviting its customers to take an exclusive look behind the scenes of decor creation: Pfleiderer tells the story of how each of the 20 new decors was created – from the trend observation, to development through to the finished product. “By explaining the origins of each décor, our customers are immersed in a new world of experience," explains Sabine Spitz, who is responsible for decor panel product management at Pfleiderer: "You discover how we incorporate emerging trends into our designs." With each decor story, visitors take a wealth of inspirations home with them – "and in addition, plenty of talking points, with which to enthuse their own customers with new ideas," says Spitz.

Inspiring yellow: "Saffron" and "Turmeric"

The eight new plain decors complement the current Pfleiderer design range in the fashionable colour worlds of yellow, green and leather. "Turmeric" and "Saffron" have a warm and spicy effect on the observer: "Turmeric is especially suitable for creating a puristic and stimulating atmosphere," explains Spitz: "We recommend that our customers combine this decor with neutral, more muted colours" The lush yellow of "Saffron" can also be combined well with bright colours, says Spitz: "This decor radiates energy and freshness in any constellation."

New green shades for bon viveurs

Another colour, which is becoming increasingly popular, is green: With "Carambola", "Granny Smith" and "Lime", Pfleiderer has added three new shades to the green colour palette in its range. "While the soft green of the young star fruit stands for a natural feeling, the apple is teeming with positive energy," Spitz finds: "Our "Lime" is especially able to awaken recollections of balmy summer evenings – with delicious mojitos, margaritas or daiquiris."

Brown: four new variations

Pfleiderer's three new leather colours also radiate affinity with nature: "Antelope" is a light coloured brown tending to a reddish colour, just like in the familiar classic, characterful leather. "This decor harmonises best with earthy colours and natural designs," says Spitz: "Those who would rather associate leather with urbane chic should opt for our "Bison"." Combined with expressive wood decors or plain colours in muted colours, this brown colour creates an especially warm and pleasant atmosphere.

"Kodiak" on the other hand is classically cool. This decor goes perfectly well with cool, muted colours such as "Atlantic Blue" or "Mint metallic," explains Spitz: "A colour palette for which we were inspired by the nature in southern Alaska." On the other hand, those who want a strong, glossy brown will find that Pfleiderer has a solution for them too: "Copper metallic" pays homage to the semi-precious metal, which has enriched human culture for thousands of years. This decor manages to appear opulent and discreet at the same time – "ideal as a basis for tasteful combinations, which will be very much in demand in the future," forecasts Spitz.

Scandinavian design: plain, light and more popular than ever before

"But at the same time, Scandinavian design will continue to triumph," Spitz is sure: "A plain, light ambience characterised by light-coloured wood and clear lines." For this Pfleiderer has added "Masurian Birch sand", " Fjord Beech light " and "Natural Pine Fano" to its range – all finely figured, light and airy.

Pfleiderer's exciting experiment with "Natural Pine Fano" is also a resounding success: "We have combined the muted wood figure of pine with warm, more playful colours," explains Spitz: "The result is Mediterranean temperament with cool Scandinavian elegance. Anyone who is looking for something special will feel at home in this colour palette," promises Spitz.

Oak can do more.

Pfleiderer also questions old traditions with its new Oak decor: “Grey Sonoma Oak” which displays a lightness that we are not accustomed to with classic oak. "Our oak is just as modern as it is versatile." Whereas the grey-brown "St. Tropez Oak" has a far more rustic effect" – "as if it had defied the sun, wind and weather for many years" comments Spitz: "With its balanced naturalness, this decor is best suited for combinations with more muted colours." "Alpine Spruce" is similarly ethnic: Its intensive figure lends each room a natural touch – with urbane chic.

"Madison Walnut": a cut above all the trends

The same applies to the wood of the walnut tree: Dark with fine figuring, it is a cut above all fashion trends. With "Madison Walnut" Pfleiderer has therefore added two new colour combinations to its range at the same time. These are especially suitable for gracious, timeless interiors – above all in combination with conservative plain colours or gently grained stones.

The "Everglade" decor services a completely different taste – as homage to one of the most fascinating nature reserves in the world with its alligators, pumas and flamingos living in the wild. "Coarsely grained, the rustic "Everglade" gives an impression of the nativeness of this flora and fauna on the East coast of the USA," explains Spitz and recommends that this highly expressive decor be set in contrast with orange, blue, silver grey or aluminium.

“Plenty of Freedom for new design ideas"

A good choice for richly contrasting compositions is also "Atrium", a decor that leaves the beholder mystified: Is it concrete? Or grey-dyed wood? "We deliberately do not want to answer this question," says Spitz: "With this decor we give our customers plenty of freedom to achieve completely new design ideas."
