Federal Way, Wash., June 13, 2013 – Weyerhaeuser’s Parallam® Plus Deck Beam Sizer app is now available for use on Android devices. The easy-to-use app helps deck builders and advanced DIYers design strong, stable decks by providing an easy way to determine the correct Trus Joist® Parallam Plus PSL beam for each project.
The Deck Beam Sizer app enables users to specify the size and loading of decks with only three simple inputs to find the correct beam size. The app then emails the user proper documentation for issuing to the local building department. For complex decks requiring additional design assistance, the builder can connect to Weyerhaeuser technical support with just a few clicks within the app.

Trus Joist Parallam Plus PSL with Wolmanized® preservative protection is decay- and insectresistant, making it ideal for deck framing as well as a range of exposed and in-ground structural lumber applications. The engineered wood is treated to the core, eliminating the need for field treatment when the wood is cut or drilled. The kiln-dried beams are consistently straight and strong, and they are available in long lengths for increased design flexibility.
The Parallam Plus Deck Beam Sizer app is available for free download on Google Play as well as the App StoreSM.
