Nimbus Acquires a Stake in Buerkle

The plant manufacturer Robert Buerkle GmbH announces the arrival of the private equity company Nimbus based in Zeist, the Netherlands. The investor with an interest in long-term investments has acquired a stake with a significant capital increase and wants to actively foster the further development of the corporate group.

Buerkle develops and builds major sophisticated coating and laminating lines for the woodworking industry, the printed circuit boards’, plastic cards’ and solar module industries. In addition to that, the company supplies plants and machinery to the automotive and building industry.

Nimbus is a specialist in equity investments in small and mid-cap companies and invests since the beginning of the 90ies in companies having their “own product” and which are at a turning point in their development. Currently, the investor holds 25 majority stakes in medium-sized companies throughout Europe. Yet Nimbus is regarded as a faithful partner. The main focus of the Buerkle management and Nimbus is to strengthen the current position of the plant and mechanical engineering company as an innovative and reliable performance leader in the core technologies of pressing and coating / laminating.

The Buerkle management looks optimistically towards the current business year 2014: With the measures taken, the company sees itself well equipped to tackle the challenges of the global economy.

The Swabian medium-sized company is predominantly active in exports. More than 80 per cent of the planned approx. 90 million Euros annual turnover is generated outside Germany. The most important markets are Europe, Asia as well as North and South America. By the end of the second quarter of 2014, the mechanical engineering company wants to employ a staff of around 600 worldwide.
