'Made in Italy' at Ligna 2015

Once again, Italy will have the largest national delegation at Ligna, the biennial exhibition of wood technology scheduled in Hanover from May 11 to 15.

There will be 299 exhibitors of “made in Italy”, in all product categories, although visitors will see a predominance of experience, competence and know-how – also resulting from the tight link with Italian design – in furniture production and panel processing, with excellent examples also in finishing.

Such strong attendance is due not only to traditional attention for the German market − which has an excellent lineup of domestic suppliers, but still finds business opportunities with Italian companies − but mostly to the fact that Ligna is a global showcase. The Italian industry currently exports over 75 percent of production (1,670 million Euro in 2015, 8.6 percent more than the previous year) and looks at international industry exhibitions, Ligna on top of all, as effective platforms to achieve business success in several markets.

“The traditional strong export vocation of Italian companies witnesses – even in periods of crisis – to the values that our national industry can express”, said Dario Corbetta, Acimall director. “Quality, reliability, consistent innovation, appropriate price-to-performance ratios keep opening the world’s doors to “made in Italy”. And as figures show, our industry only needs just a little push from the Italian furniture and woodworking industry to go back to revenue levels before 2008".

“We are looking forward to the year 2015 to let us say that the hardest times are over”, Corbetta concluded. “The signs of awakening are tangible and everything seems to suggest − we should use the conditional form − that 2016 might be the start of a better economic cycle, hopefully enhancing the role of our show Xylexpo, that will celebrate its 25th edition from 24 to 28 May 2016 at FieraMilano-Rho”.
