SHANGHAI, Oct. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The 18th Furniture Manufacturing & Supply China (FMC China 2012) was successfully held from September 11-14, 2012 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. The exhibition lasted for four days, and was held concurrently with 'FMC Premium 2012'.

The exhibits included Woodworking Machinery & Tools, Office Furniture Supplies & Gas Springs, Furniture Coating & Chemicals, Furniture Hardware & Fittings, Furniture Inspection, Design & Services, Furniture Panels & Surface Deco, Cabinet & Wardrobe Fittings/Furniture Lightings, Furniture Fabric & Leather and Upholstery Furniture Components & Supplies.

The total surface area at FMC China 2012 was 63,000 sqm. There were 761 exhibitors from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden and the USA. Further, 30,759 trade buyers from 111 countries and regions visited FMC China 2012.

Three Pavilions, Taiwan Pavilion, the States of North Carolina and Pennsylvania Hardwood Pavilions, together with Eight Associations & Groups, such as the Malaysian Timber Council, the Mexican Furniture Association, the Indian Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Traders, the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council, the Vietnam Purchasing Group, the Shanghai Timber Industry Association, the China Wood-based Panel Distribution Alliance and the China National Forest Product Industry Association, all brought their members to visit FMC China 2012.

This year, FMC China attracted 30,759 trade buyers, including 26,193 local visitors and 4,566 overseas buyers. In total, 43% came from Asian countries, 22.3% from Europe, 15.6% from North America, 3.7% from South America, 2.1% from Oceania, and 1.1% from Africa. The 20 most represented countries/regions for international visitors were India, Russia, Malaysia, Mexico, the Taiwan Region, Japan, the USA, Singapore, Italy, the Hong Kong Region, Vietnam, the U.K, Brazil, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, France, Canada, Korea, Turkey, Germany and Belarus.

Moreover, 21,573 visitors from decision-maker levels attended 'FMC Premium 2012', a show for high-end suppliers of Furniture Components and Raw Materials.

30 professional onsite events and over 30 onsite interviews were held onsite, including First World Health Sleep Industry Conference, Ideas of Coordinated Innovation -- Forum on Furniture and Material Design Trends, Shanghai Timber Association Conference - the Imported and Exported Timber Forum, Joint Meeting of Furniture Industry Chain in China. More than 300 delegates from the healthy sleep industry at home and abroad attended the First World Health Sleep Industry Conference.

Outlook for FMC China 2013

FMC China 2013 will be held from 11-14 September 2013 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC).

Semi-finished Furniture will be added as a new category at FMC China 2013. Meanwhile, Furniture Hardware & Fittings, Furniture Fabrics & Leather and Furniture Panels & Surface Deco will be enlarged in 2013, as will Woodworking Machinery & Tools.

The organizers will continue to focus on improving the quality and quantity of visitors, and will provide the best in woodworking machinery and furniture raw materials for the Chinese Furniture Industry.
