KI Showcases Furniture and Movable Wall at Healthcare Design 2012PHOENIX – KI healthcare experts and designers will discuss market trends, share insights and showcase new product inspirations at Healthcare Design 2012, booth #400. Debuting for the first time at this year’s conference are a series of new products from KI: the elegant and sophisticated Affina Collection—an expansive seating and table collection designed by Paul James and Dan Cramer—and award-winning Lightline Movable Wall.

“Healthcare Design is the perfect opportunity to spotlight our most innovative healthcare solutions that are designed to meet the needs of patients, families and staff,” said Debbie Breunig, vice president, healthcare, KI. “We’re excited to show attendees how our innovative healthcare furniture and movable wall solutions can create environments that encourage patient healing, support family involvement and increase staff efficiency.”

What’s New?

Affina is a timeless collection that addresses the growing needs and changes within the healthcare environment. Affina allows for visual continuity from the lobby to the patient room while addressing the growing needs and changes within the healthcare environment. The collection is comprised of guest, multiple, modular, lobby, patient, bariatric, recliner and sleepover seating, as well as occasional tables, casegoods and pediatric seating.

KI Showcases Furniture and Movable Wall at Healthcare Design 2012Affina was developed with emphasis on the patient, patient family and caregiver’s comfort while maintaining a visual elegance. The collection addresses the furnishing needs of the patient, family member and staff and is designed to withstand the rigors of the 24/7 healthcare environment. Field replaceable components, solid surfaces that are bleach safe, combined with lifetime warranties support an efficient, safe and cost-effective solution across the spectrum of products within the Affina collection.

Lightline is a pre-assembled, movable glass wall storefront solution dedicated to the enhancement of light. Unifying architecture and office furniture, Lightline provides the look of a sophisticated storefront, yet has flexible elements that promote reuse by adapting to business changes quickly, efficiently and environmentally. Lightline Movable Wall supports the principles of Evidence-Based Design (EBD) by offering a flexible solution that supports positive outcomes from the perspective of all users within the built environment.

Designed by KI, Lightline is the first and only unitized (pre-assembled) seamless butt-glazed wall solution on the market. Lightline provides a high level of aesthetics with thinner and more passive visuals and offers a true architectural product through its clean, rectilinear profiles and seamless connections. Lightline supports unlimited buttglazing, eliminating the need for vertical posts between glass panels.

Lightline won a Best of NeoCon Silver Award at this year’s NeoCon and the BUILDINGS' magazine Product Innovation Grand Prize Award for performance, aesthetics and function.

Showroom Highlights

In addition to Affina and Lightline, additional highlights for this year’s show include:

• New “Application of Color in Healthcare Settings” White Paper: KI is the proud sponsor for the production of "The Application of Color in Healthcare Settings,” a white paper that examines the synergy between colors and mood and provides practitioners a guideline for the use of color in different healthcare settings. This paper addresses how architects and designers can utilize color in their projects, provides examples of color used in healthcare design today and how these colors influence performance and the experience of the space. The white paper is available as a free download here.

• Designer Meet and Greet: Show attendees that stop by KI’s booth (#400) throughout HEALTHCARE DESIGN will have the opportunity to meet and greet the designers of the Affina Collection, Paul James and Dan Cramer.
